I wrote this song right after my dog Roxy got diagnosed with cancer and it’s probably the most honest thing I’ve ever written. And while it’s about my dog, it’s really for anyone who is experiencing an impending loss of a loved one. I was going to call it ‘How Do I Say Goodbye?’, but in tribute to her it’s called ‘Roxy’s Song’. And while it’s a sad song, I tried to touch on some of the things that made her special.
